Woman dies in collision in Grellingen BL

A 45-year-old female delivery van driver died in a head-on collision with a car in Grellingen BL on Wednesday morning. She died at the scene of the accident, according to the Basel police. Two other people were seriously injured.
A 60-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle on Baselstrasse shortly before 7.30 a.m., according to a press release. The car crashed head-on into the oncoming delivery van.
A passenger in the van and the driver of the car that caused the accident suffered "extremely serious injuries". They were flown to hospital by two rescue helicopters. The fire department rescued all three people from the vehicles.
The police and the public prosecutor's office have launched an investigation into the cause of the accident.
