Woman falls into the Rhine near the state border and drowns

A woman fell into the Rhine and drowned on the weir of the hydropower plant in Rheinfelden on the Swiss-German border on Tuesday. The 37-year-old woman had her photo taken and was sitting on the railing of the weir. She lost her balance.
The woman fell down the weir into the Rhine, the Freiburg Police Headquarters announced on Wednesday regarding the tragic accident. The woman fell into the Rhine at around 1.30 p.m. on Tuesday. Despite immediate rescue measures, she could only be recovered dead.
