Zug cantonal councillor Laura Dittli will chair the Gambling Directors' Conference (FDKG) from May next year. The 33-year-old centrist politician is Director of Security for the Canton of Zug.
Dittli was elected by the Gambling Directors' Conference on Monday as the successor to Andrea Bettiga, Head of the Glarus Department of Security and Justice, according to a press release issued on Friday. Bettiga had chaired the FDKG since 2018.
The FDKG is the supreme body of the intercantonal sponsorship of gambling. Within the framework of this body, the cantons jointly perform some of the tasks incumbent upon them in the area of gambling. These include the licensing and supervision of large-scale games, the use of net profits for the promotion of national sport and the fight against gambling addiction.
