On Tuesday night, the Zurich cantonal police stopped a van driver in Zurich-Affoltern on suspicion of possession of narcotics. They eventually found six kilograms of cocaine in the van.

The police stopped the driver shortly after 3 am. As they suspected narcotics in the vehicle, they arrested the driver on the spot, as they wrote in a statement on Wednesday.

With the help of a sniffer dog and specialists from the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security, the police were able to locate a cocaine stash in the car, it was reported.

The driver was a 29-year-old Spaniard. The man was taken to the Zurich-Limmat public prosecutor's office.
