Zurich's public transport company (VBZ) resumed operations on Friday morning, for the most part in stages. Travelers should expect longer travel times, said a VBZ spokesperson at the request of the Keystone-SDA news agency.
Initially, operations on all lines will remain irregular due to snow and icy conditions, the spokesman said early Friday morning.
Lines 33 and 751 were particularly affected by the snowfall, according to a press release. The VBZ advised travelers to consult the online timetable before departure. It was initially unclear how long the restrictions would last.
On Thursday evening, Zurich's public transport company suspended bus services in the city and surrounding area. The streetcar lines only ran irregularly.
