Federal Councilor Viola Amherd is doing best job among the members of the Swiss government, according to the latest Leewas Institute election poll on behalf of Tamedia and 20 Minutes.
The results of the survey are based on 25,688 responses from participants modeled according to demographic, geographic and political variables. The survey was conducted between July 10th and 11th.
According to the election poll, the Central Federal Councilor was the one with the best work record. Federal President Alain Berset is in second place in the current survey; in the poll preceding he was in third place.
Energy Minister Albert Rösti took third place, followed by Federal Councilor Karin Keller-Sutter. According to the poll, Guy Parmelin and Ignazio Cassis. The lowest rank went to Federal Councilor Elisabeth Baume-Schneider.
Viola Amherd also leads the ranking with regard to her re-election by the United Federal Assembly in December 2023: 60% of the survey participants support her re-election. Albert Rösti came in second with 54% in favor. Karin Keller-Sutter follows him with 53%.
For the other members of the Federal Council – apart from Alain Berset, who will no longer be serving on the Federal Council – the rate is less than 50%. Guy Parmelin is in fourth place with 39%, followed by Elisabeth Baume-Schneider and Ignazio Cassis at the bottom.
The satisfaction levels with regard to the work of Parliament and the Federal Council as a whole fell slightly compared to February. Satisfaction with parliament fell by two percentage points to 48%, and 50% of those surveyed were dissatisfied with parliament.
Satisfaction with the Federal Council as a whole also fell slightly, down one percentage point to 54%. Overall, 45% of those surveyed were dissatisfied with the work of the Federal Council.
