Swisscom finalises financing for 8 billion euro Vodafone Italia acquisition, bonds and loans secured.
Swisscom has advanced in its billion-euro acquisition of Vodafone Italia, securing the necessary financing. The telecommunications group announced on Thursday that bonds and bank loans will cover the 8 billion euro purchase price.
Swisscom issued Swiss franc bonds worth 1.145 billion CHF in early May, followed by 4 billion euros in euro bonds. The remaining amount will be covered by a syndicated bank loan of 3 billion euros, provided in two tranches.
The financing was secured at attractive conditions ahead of the expected completion date in Q1 2025. The additional interest expense is estimated at a maximum of CHF 250 million per year, aligning with initial projections.
