Delays all day across Switzerland as the Easter holiday comes to an end. Traffic particularly bad in Gotthard.
On the south-north axis of the A2 highway, the big wave of return travel for Easter has begun. There was a lengthy traffic jam in front of the south portal of the Gotthard road tunnel in Ticino on Monday afternoon.
The queue of metal sheets between Quinto and the rest area in Airolo in Ticino was initially six kilometers long. The waiting time was around one hour, according to the Touring Club Switzerland (TCS). The traffic services expected the volume of traffic to continue to grow for the rest of the day.
Viasuisse expected the biggest delays in front of the tunnel portal in Airolo until 10.00 pm. However, there may also be waiting times on Tuesday and the following days, according to the information.
