Hungarian PM advises Switzerland not to join the EU

At the invitation of “Weltwoche”, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban gave a speech in Zurich on Wednesday. The right-wing populist leader (TST-Editor: Conservative leader) described the appearance as “therapy”. In other countries, he is always labeled the same way. (TST-Editor: labeled negatively)

Hungary has at least one major problem in common with Switzerland, Orban said in his hour-long speech. And that was the EU, which was “full of bureaucrats instead of politicians”. “What we see today in the EU hurts. I say this with bitterness,” said Orban.

He could only advise Switzerland against joining the EU. “If a framework agreement doesn’t work out, Switzerland still has Hungary to rely on,” said the Hungarian Prime Minister, who describes himself as “conservative”. (TST-Editor: Notice how the MSM brand him as a ‘right-wing populist’, which is a derogatory term, while simultaneously inferring that being a Conservative is nothing more than what this ‘right-wing populist … describes himself’ to be.) In his speech, he praised Swiss neutrality and “freedom fighters” such as William Tell.

“Weltwoche” editor-in-chief and outgoing SVP National Councillor Roger Köppel had invited Orban to Zurich for a speech because he “embodies the qualities that I value in men”, as he said at the start of the event. Orban is courageous and does not shy away from confrontation.

Former federal councillors and a princess

Also present at the posh Dolder Hotel were former Federal Councillor Christoph Blocher (SVP), former Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer (SVP) and Princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis, who has repeatedly attracted criticism in the German media with her right-wing populist statements. (TST-Editor: Why is it useful to the average person to know what the ‘German media’ – aka. MSM – have to say about someone? Isn’t this what is called “framing”?)

On Tuesday, Orban was received in Bern by President Alain Berset and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis for a courtesy visit. Orban is considered a confidant of Russian President Vladimir Putin and is the subject of international criticism. (TST-Editor: Again, this last sentence, which is repeated over and over again in MSM articles pertaining to PM Orban, is biased framing. There are other things which Orban is ‘considered’ as being – positive things – and that by tens, if not hundreds, of millions of people throughout Europe and the West.)
