86-Year-Old Falls 50 Meters Down a Hillside in Ticino

On Thursday, an 86-year-old mushroom collector was seriously injured in a mountain accident in the Swiss municipality of Mugena. The accident occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. and the Italian man was walking with a relative on a path at an altitude of approximately 1100 meters when he fell about 50 meters down a slope. The cause of the accident is currently unknown. The man was treated by police and Rega rescue personnel and then flown to the hospital.
