A1 highway near Frauenkappelen BE closed after serious accident

The A1 highway was closed on Saturday afternoon after a serious accident between Kerzers FR and Bern. There was initially no information about any injuries.

The Fribourg cantonal police announced the closure of the highway via the short message service X, but the Bern cantonal police were responsible. According to a media spokesperson for the Bern cantonal police, the emergency services were informed shortly after 1 p.m. "about a serious accident" on the A1.

The scene of the accident was in the area of the acceleration lane of the Mühleberg highway ramp near Frauenkappelen in the direction of Bern.

The police did not provide details of the vehicles involved or any injuries on request. However, the media spokesperson said that the work is expected to take some time and referred to a media release to be published at a later date.
