Bastien Girod becomes Partner for Sustainability at Deloitte Switzerland

The consulting firm Deloitte has appointed Bastien Girod as a partner for sustainability. The Green Party National Councillor will complement Deloitte's auditing and consulting services and support clients in sustainability transformation, the company announced in a press release on Wednesday.

According to the information provided, Girod will join Deloitte Switzerland at the beginning of April as a partner in the climate protection and sustainability service area. For the past six years, he has worked for South Pole, an international emissions reduction company. He resigned from the company in November 2023. South Pole hit the headlines last year due to its collaboration with the controversial Kariba project in Zimbabwe.

Girod was quoted in the press release as saying that he was very much looking forward to his new role at Deloitte. "This will enable me to support clients from all relevant industries in strategic, regulatory and organizational tasks at the world's largest auditing and consulting firm, which will lead to more sustainable development."
