The Board of the Association of Swiss Electricity Companies (VSE) has found a successor to the retiring Michael Wider in the search for a new President. It is recommending Martin Schwab for election, as the association announced on Thursday.

Schwab is CEO of Centralschweizerische Kraftwerke (CKW) and already a member of the VSE Board. The successor to Michael Wider, who has been President of the VSE since 2017 and will retire from Alpiq at the end of February, will be decided at the Annual General Meeting on May 23, 2024, according to the statement.

Schwab has been CEO of CKW since April 2018. Previously, the Bern native was CFO at CKW's parent company Axpo for seven years.
