Green Party Sets Timeline for Federal Council Candidacy

The Green Party in the Swiss Federal Assembly has set the timeline for their candidacy for the Federal Council in the upcoming December elections. Those interested in running must register with the party by November 3rd. Following the national elections on October 22nd, the faction will meet on October 27th and November 10th to update their strategy for entering the Federal Council and to hear from the candidates. The urgency of climate action is highlighted in the statement, as the need for action in the face of the climate crisis and its effects is "huge". A selection committee was set up in June to identify potential candidates, who will be supported by their respective cantonal parties. The faction discussed further steps for the Federal Council candidacy during a faction trip to Neuchâtel and the Bernese Seeland.nnnnnnnnnnnnnn
