The two health insurance associations Santésuisse and Curafutura have adapted their industry agreement for brokerage activities to the new federal law. The agreement has been in force since 1 September. The associations aim for the general binding declaration to come into effect on 1 January 2024. The industry agreement has been in force since 2021, as the associations announced on Tuesday. The adjustment is due to the fact that Parliament has prohibited so-called cold calling in December 2022. This is telephone advertising to customers who have never been insured with the relevant health insurance or have not been insured for a long time. In addition, the revised Federal Act on Insurance Brokerage Activities equates external brokers with those employed by health insurance companies and limits the amount of commissions to 70 francs per conclusion. The two associations aim for the general binding declaration of the industry agreement to be made as soon as possible. Insurers can join the amended agreement since it came into force. A prerequisite for a general binding declaration is that 66 percent of health insurance companies participate.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
