Industrial hall near Sirnach TG is on fire

A fire broke out in an industrial building between Sirnach TG and Wil SG on Thursday morning. The fire department is on site with a large contingent. The authorities are asking residents to keep their windows closed.

The industrial hall was evacuated, said Matthias Graf, media spokesman for the Thurgau cantonal police, on request. Three people had sustained minor injuries.

The fire is causing a lot of smoke. Because it is suspected that toxic substances could be released, residents in the region are being asked to keep their doors and windows closed, Graf continued. He was currently unable to say what materials were stored in the hall.

The industrial hall is located in the immediate vicinity of the A1 highway.
