Information for Voters via App, Online and Brochure

On October 22nd, Swiss citizens will be able to vote in the federal parliament. The Swiss government and cantons have provided multiple channels of information to ensure that everyone's vote counts. 5920 people are running for the National Council, and several cantons have reported a record number of candidates and lists. Voters can submit a pre-printed list or modify it by hand, as long as they follow certain rules. The Voteinfo app of the federal government covers the federal elections for the first time, and provides names and lists of candidates by canton, instructions on how to fill out the ballot, real-time results, and data on the second rounds of voting for the Council of States. The official election platform of the federal government (ch.ch/wahlen2023) provides information in all four national languages and English, and covers topics such as transparency in political financing and women in parliament. The printed election guide of the federal government is available in the twenty cantons that elect their representatives by proportional representation, and is now also available in Easy Language. The guide explains how to cumulate and panaché, what it means to submit a list with or without a party designation, and how to correctly fill out the ballot.nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn
