One person dies in apartment fire in the city of Lucerne

One person died in a fire in an apartment in the city of Lucerne on Monday afternoon. The identity of the victim is currently being clarified, according to the public prosecutor's office. Another person was taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation.

It is still unclear why the fire broke out in the apartment of the apartment building on Bernstrasse, according to a press release from the Lucerne public prosecutor's office. Fire investigators are currently working on the case.

The fire broke out at around 12 noon. Firefighters were able to evacuate nine people from the building. They found one person dead in the apartment.
