Police have to evacuate several houses in Winterthur due to threats

The Winterthur municipal police and the Zurich cantonal police had to deploy a large contingent to Oberwinterthur on Thursday morning. The reason for this was a threat received overnight from an unknown person.

Several houses in the Guggenbühl district had to be evacuated, said a spokesperson for the cantonal police on request. The spokesperson did not provide any more detailed information about the nature of the threat. The sender of the threat has not yet been identified. The area near Oberwinterthur station has been cordoned off. However, rail traffic is currently unaffected.
