The Swiss political parties SVP, SP and the Greens are launching their election campaigns for the October 22nd parliamentary elections on Saturday. The SVP's launch event will take place at the Swiss Life Arena of the ZSC Zurich and is open to families and children. It will be attended by the current federal councillors Elisabeth Baume-Schneider, Guy Parmelin, Albert Rösti and Alain Berset, as well as former federal councillors Christoph Blocher, Adolf Ogi and Ueli Maurer. Radio and sports presenter Roman Kilchsperger will moderate the event and Bernese Mundart-Rocker Florian Ast will provide musical entertainment. The SP has chosen the bilingual city of Biel BE as the location for their launch event. Over 600 delegates and guests are expected to attend, including the two current federal councillors. They and the co-presidency of Mattea Meyer and Cédric Wermuth will launch the SP election campaign with speeches. The delegates will also vote on a motion to support the Inclusion Initiative, which calls for a guarantee of equality, self-determination and participation for people with disabilities. They will also vote on a motion to launch an initiative for a single health insurance scheme. The Greens will also vote to support the Inclusion Initiative at their delegate meeting in Bern. They will also launch their own initiative, the Solar Initiative, which calls for every suitable roof to be equipped with a solar panel within 15 years. The Greens will focus their election campaign on three main points: climate protection, biodiversity protection and the creation of a discrimination-free society.nnnnnnnnnn
