Two people in hospital after helicopter crash in Thurgau

A flight instructor and a student pilot were injured in a helicopter crash near Rothenhausen on Tuesday. According to the cantonal police, the helicopter crashed during take-off in a meadow. An ambulance took the injured to hospital.

The helicopter came to a standstill lying on its side, as the Thurgau cantonal police wrote in a statement on Tuesday. The material damage cannot yet be quantified.

A specialist company was called in to salvage and remove the vehicle. The cause of the accident is still unknown and is the subject of ongoing investigations by specialists from the Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board (STSB).
