Former US President Donald Trump has clearly won the Republican primary in the state of Alaska. As reported by CNN and NBC on Wednesday night (local time), citing their own forecasts, Trump was well ahead of his rival Nikki Haley.

Alaska is located northwest of Canada and is sparsely populated with around 665,000 inhabitants. The rather conservative state is about 40 times the size of Switzerland. It is not very important in the Republican primaries. Only 29 of the 2429 delegate votes will be awarded there.
