Woman Falls from Balcony in Biel and Dies

On Sunday morning, a woman fell from the balcony of a higher floor of a residential building in Biel and died instantly. The police detained two men, one of them a juvenile, as third-party involvement could not be ruled out. Despite first aid from private and rescue personnel, the woman could not be saved. The formal identification of the victim was still pending at the evening. Initial investigations by the authorities do not exclude third-party involvement. Comprehensive investigations under the direction of the Berner Jura-Seeland Public Prosecutor's Office and the Juvenile Prosecutor's Office led to the arrest of the two men in the early morning. Further comprehensive investigations into possible other persons involved were underway on Sunday. Witnesses are being sought.
