Salt grew last year and increased its operating profit. Switzerland’s third-largest mobile provider once again gained many new mobile subscription customers.

Salt’s sales rose by 4.0% to CHF 1.12 billion, as the company announced on Tuesday. Operating profit before depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 4.7% to CHF 572.6 million.

Many New Customers

Salt made strong gains in its operating business:

Salt acquired a total of 119,600 new mobile subscription customers last year. In the final quarter alone, 27,400 new customers were added, wrote the telecoms provider. The number of lucrative cell phone subscription customers has thus climbed to 1.60 million.

At the same time, the number of broadband customers (Internet, TV and fixed-line telephony) exceeded the 200,000 mark in April 2023, Salt explained.

The number of customers in this segment stood at 223,000 at the end of the year. Salt thus remains the number 1 in customer growth in the broadband segment, the company wrote.

Salt Post Office Deal

Salt has recently pulled off a coup: The Group has teamed up with Swiss Post. The “Post Mobile” cell phone offer for private customers has been available in the branches of the “yellow giant” for several weeks.
