Sulzer Opens New High-Performance Pump Facility in Mexico

Sulzer expands its footprint in Mexico City with a state-of-the-art testing and assembly centre.

Sulzer recently celebrated the opening of a new test and assembly centre, located adjacent to its existing pump factory in Mexico City claims a press release.

Sulzer is a global fluid engineering leader specialising in energy-efficient technologies for fluid processing, including pumping and separation. Starting in Winterthur, Switzerland in 1834. They operates 180 facilities worldwide.

This modern facility is equipped with a 10-meter-deep hydraulic test rig for large pumps, a digital monitoring system, and a dedicated packaging area, a significant extension of Sulzer Pumps Mexico’s production capabilities for large-scale pumps.

This expansion is aimed at addressing the increasing demand for infrastructure across North, Central, and South America.

Situated in Cuautitlan Izcalli within the Mexico City metropolitan area, Sulzer’s site is poised to test and assemble high-performance fluid technology, supporting new infrastructure projects throughout the Americas.

The newly established test centre has hydraulic testing infrastructure capable of accommodating flow rates up to 23,000 cubic meters per hour (m³/h), allowing for thorough performance testing.
