Keepit, a leader in cloud data backup and recovery, is expanding its global footprint with the launch of two new data centres in Switzerland according to a press release.

The move, in partnership with Equinix, a renowned green digital infrastructure company, aims to cater to businesses seeking data storage solutions compliant with Swiss legal standards.

Our data centre strategy is designed to provide instantaneous data recovery for our clients. Equinix’s globally recognised security standards, coupled with our dual-location data mirroring, ensures uninterrupted data availability for our customers, setting us apart as the first in our field to offer this level of data residency assurance.

This expansion comes in response to the growing demand for Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) and data recovery solutions, driven by the digital era’s escalating data volumes. Keepit’s existing network spans across Germany, Denmark, the UK, the US, Canada, and Australia, with the Swiss centres marking a significant extension of its services.

The Swiss data centres are poised to deliver fast, secure, and efficient backup and recovery services for major SaaS platforms, including Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Salesforce, and others. Swiss IT consultancy firm Joker IT is collaborating with Keepit on this venture.

Switzerland is a popular hub for data, despite the costs involved. Many features of Switzerland make it a good option to store their data. With stringent data regulations, high technical competency in the labour market, and a strong air of trust surrounding Switzerland – data feels at home.

Many companies serving across Europe may find their way to Switzerland as a matter of location. The speed at which data can move around the continent from here is hard to match due to our central position.

Switzerland’s allure for data storage is rooted in its stability, both politically and financially, coupled with strong infrastructure. The country also enjoys a network effect from established Swiss companies already excelling in data services.
